I have always been the kind of person to splurge on a good serum and moisturizer for my skin. Why? What is the first thing a person looks at when they see you? Answer: your face. This is always going to be true no matter what year, day or era we live in so you have to preserve your skin and take care of it! No matter what season it is, I take the same steps towards my skin to make sure it is moisturized ALWAYS, day and night. I have been more open than usual to trying new serums and thought I would share a few that I cannot stop using!
In case you aren’t sure why serum is so important, serum is whats going to help set the base of locking in your moisturizer and keeping your skin refreshed and glowing for long period of time. I have tried putting on just toner + moisturizer and it’s not the same without the serum. Not only does my skin feel great, but I never have flaky or dry skin come 3 o’clock during the work week when some days seem long and stressful.
Bare Minerals does a fantastic job creating serums that you can use both during the day and at night, with formulas that give you exactly what you are looking for.
Eternalixir: This skin volumnizing serum is my favorite in particular because it is super lightweight, helps with dry skin and smells amazing too! It is a killer combination of oil and serum that helps even out the texture of the skin and gives a more youthful glow. I use my Huxley toner all over my face first, then this serum, and then my Huxley moisturizer before putting on my foundation.
Brilliant Future Age Defense and Renew Serum: I found this serum to be more similar to a lotion and made for more combination skin. Again my skin is on the dryer side so if you are finding yourself caught in the middle, this would be a great option for you!
Ageless Genius Firming & Wrinkle Smoothing Serum: For those with a fine line or two and they want their skin to be more firm, this is right for you. It definitely kept my skin moist and firm throughout the day and I found my skin to be super smooth. I use this about two times a week to make sure I am being attentive to my wrinkles but overall I think this serum is great for firming and moisturizing.
Like I said, I obsess over serums and moisturizers.. but what is most important is paying attention to what your skin likes and reacts well to. I have had to go through products that weren’t fit for me but could have been the perfect match for someone else. What serums have you been dying to try? Let me know!
XO.
