How to Throw a Galentine's Day Party

As you might have read in my last blog post, single or taken, it’s doing what’s best for YOU is most important, now and always. With that, I wanted to show my closest gal pals all the love by hosting a Galentine’s Day party as a way to slow down, catch up and enjoy each other’s company. I knew if I was going to host the party, I have to go all out and that’s exactly what I did. I love decorating and getting crafty when I have the chance, so this was perfect to put my creative cap on and make the party a little extra. A little extra means the most fabulous parties, no? That was what I was going for and I hope you enjoy my tips and tricks below on how you can show your ladies some love and throw a Galentine’s Day party too.

So what party elements made my idea come to life? I am so excited to share photos from my Galentine’s Day party and how everything came together. Picking the Perfect Location

You may have read my post about my favorite cozy spots in the city and how much I love Maison Marcel. When I was deciding on where to host my party, I thought this was the perfect spot with its white marble tables, open seating area, shades of pink and decor every girl wants her apartment to look like. Fun fact: Maison Marcel will gladly host your next event, and they are perfect for any occasion! We had Britney Spears playing her greatest hits, candlelight, and so many photo opportunities! The team at Maison Marcel made the night was absolutely perfect and I can’t wait to host another event at Maison Marcel soon.

Galentine’s Day Themed Balloons

What is a party without Galentine’s Day themed balloons?! Not only do they look adorable but they are perfect for a photo booth! I purchased my balloons from Paris312 (located in Chicago but they ship anywhere!) and immediately knew that this was going to be the ultimate photo opportunity. The team at Paris312 made it so simple to pick up my balloons and setting them up was super easy too! The balloons I had at my party are linked HERE.

Flowers, Flowers and More Flowers

Whenever someone asks me what flower company I use, I proudly say Flowers for Dreams is my go to flower service. Their bouquets are absolutely stunning and they donate 25% of their profits to a local charity. They are perfect for anything and everything from sending flowers to someone you love or bouquets for a private event. They also make flower crowns which was a hit at the party and a MUST for my next event. My lovely bouquets were from their Love collection and the crowns added the perfect touch to our photo background.

Wine Label Stickers!

Even the smallest of details are so important when it comes to planning the perfect Galentine’s Day party. Loose Lipped Labels makes customized wine labels for any event.. and I could not stop laughing at the quotes for the Galentine’s Day stickers. The labels made drinking wine that much more fun and we loved taking photos with the bottles! Follow Loose Lipped Labels on Instagram and you will be laughing too!!

Snapchat Filter

Oh yes. We so went there and don’t even deny that you love it too. I created a SnapChat filter so all my gals could capture videos and have a customized “Lex and the City’s Galentine’s Day Party” filter too. Fun fact is the filter was only $15 for a few hours. I would recommend a Snap filter for anything!

Sweets, Treats and the Decor

My gal pal Danielle inspired me to take my cookie jars to the next level and make them Kardashian style so I did just that. I grabbed a few Valentine’s Day flavored Oreos, lined up the cookies on the outside of the jar, and filled them until they couldn’t be filled anymore! I also grabbed a few bags of Valentine’s Day colored M&M’s as a sweet munchy and filled them in a jar too!

For decor, Target was my go to. From the tea lights I placed in every which corner to photo booth props to faux rose petals, I linked everything from my party below!
