In another life, I was an event planner that dreamed big and always went for the extra touch – especially when it came to parties. This year I hosted my second Galentine’s Day and it was my goal to think of all the details and to make my gal pals feel special. <3
I started planning over a month ago: Where will my event be? What kind of decor will I have? Food? Flowers? Photo opps? Candles? Music? Candy? Drinks? AH. I quicky started writing down my ideas: what I knew I wanted and a plan as to how I was going to make it happen.
The Reason Behind Galentine’s Day
As much as I love and appreciate everyone who follows along on my stories and Instagram adventures, Galentine’s Day is so much more than a girly get together. I want people, my friends, to know how much I value their friendship. I count my blessings for good, genuine people, and throwing a Galentine’s Day for people who bring out the best in me is what matters most. As I said in my speech at my party, “I am so grateful to have met you in different chapters of my life, because you all are such special people.” Galentine’s Day was not and will not ever be a “bloggers only” invite. My party is for my gals who have shown me kindness, have stuck by me, and love me unconditionally. Because that is what is most important in life.
I included all the party details along with all of the photos from my Galentine’s Day event, linked below (dress is linked too). As always, I appreciate you following along and don’t forget to show your gal pal lots of love today and always.
XO.

The Party Details
SO. MANY. DETAILS. I am sharing all of the details below on what helped bring my party to life!
The Location: Located right above West Town Bakery (in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood) is the farm to table restaurant, Homestead on the Roof. I fell in love with the space when Sammy hosted one of her supper clubs here and immediately thought the space would be perfect for an early afternoon Galentine’s Day Party. Homestead on the Roof hosts both indoor and outdoor parties (perfect for weddings, celebrations and more!) and is so quaint for an event like a Galentine’s Day Party. The food and dessert was catered by Homestead as well with avocado toast bites, Smoked Salmon & Blini bites and Frittata Bites- Mushroom bites! The cupcakes were from West Town Bakery and were so perfect I didn’t want to eat them!
The Decor: For Your Party is FOR THE WIN! You guys my napkins, coasters and goodie bags were all personalized with Lex and the City front and center. I was so excited for these little details! You’ll see in my photos my balloons and tassle decor was also from For Your Party! Their team is so helpful when trying to find the right colors and designs. These tiny (but so #extra) details added a really special touch.
The Flowers: I was so excited to have Flowers for Dreams for the second time at my Galentine’s Day party. (My bouquet is linked HERE!) I love that the flowers are locally sourced from nearby farms and are delivered to Chicago and Milwaukee. AND my favorite thing about Flowers for Dreams is that they donate 25% of every purchase to a local charity.
The Wine: You have seen the beautiful bottles but ONEHOPE donates to non profit organizations ranging from animal welfare, education, global issues, women and more. During the party, we were sipping on California Brut Sparkling Wine Gold Shimmer Edition (supporting children) and the Côtes de Provence Reserve Rosé (supporting women). I created a mimosa bar with juices and garnishes and had both the brut and rose available.
The Goodie Bags: You have to leave a party with a little goodie right?! I sent my girls home with goodies from my favorite beauty brand, Philosophy. My gals got to try Philosophy’s Pure Grace Nude Rose body lotion and their Amazing Grace Ballet Rose and Nude Rose body washes. I am a huge fan of Philosophy – I can hardly wait for my gals to try!
