Flying Solo in Chicago: My Favorite Activities

Activities in Chicago

I love being on the go with friends but sometimes I need a little bit of ‘me’ time too! There are so many amazing spots/activities in Chicago to check out solo, I thought I would share a few of my favorite city spots.  I never feel weird doing things alone, and I think it takes a lot from someone to be comfortable being on their own! With Chicago being the perfect city, there are great spots to go for YOU time! Check out a few of my favorite spots below and let me know what you think! Also my full outfit is linked below <3

Run along the lake front: One of the most relaxing and de-stressing things that you can do in the city is go on a run or walk with the lake on one side and the skyline on the other. Bust some tunes and enjoy YOU time!

Coffee at Argo Tea in Gold Coast: You might be thinking out of all the things to do solo, why would I go here? This is the best Argo tea location being in Gold Coast with a super cute outdoor patio and all glass windows from floor to ceiling. I love going here even in the winter and watching the snow fall along with the hustle and bustle among the city streets.

Be a tourist and check out the views at Sky Deck on a sunny day: You do not need to check out the sky deck with friends. Either way you are guaranteed a good time. The views are killer and sometimes you can see up to 50 miles! The views on the ledge (in the glass box which you see from my photos) are quite the thrill but so cool!!

A walk through the Lincoln Park Conservatory: As you walk through Lincoln Park, walk through the conservatory (it’s free!) and be swept away by the colorful flowers that covers the conservatory from head to toe. It is also right next door to the zoo which is also free!

Walk the streets of Gold Coast: Astor street! Astor street is one of the most notable streets in all of Chicago due to the people who have (and still do) own homes here and the astounding architecture. Hugh Hefner’s original playboy mansion is here along with one of my all time favorite spots, Three Arts Club Cafe in the Restoration Hardware store. Taking a walk through these streets is peaceful and beautiful all at the same time.

All the goodies at Floriole Cafe and Bakery: A hot spot when I was a college student a DePaul but still recommend this bakery for some alone time as it is a great spot to reflect, enjoy amazing tea, bakery goodies, and get work done too. The high ceilings, great music and all around aesthetic is perfect for a solo day.

Going somewhere solo is never a bad thing and I hope you make time for YOU because that’s what you deserve.

What did I miss and where are you dying to go?! Leave a comment below and let me know!

XO.
