City Life: Summertime in Chicago

FriYAY. Who is ready for an exciting weekend?! I know I am. I can’t stop thinking about last weekend’s gorgeous weather and hoping it stays the same with Lollapalooza finally here. That being said, after a long work week, I always try and encourage myself to stay active on the weekends and embrace city life in the summertime. And when I say active I mean brunch with friends, walk down Michigan Avenue, get a run in here and there, and really appreciate life in general. At the moment, I have two different lists: one of places I have been to and would recommend to others AND a list of places I want to go to before the summer ends. Once you check out my list below, you can tell me if I am being a little too ambitious or not.

Meghan (of Lincoln Park Minute) and I had such a fun brunch and photo shoot last weekend, I had to share some pictures from our adventures. Life is so much better when you have friends who share similar passions as you. They just get you: the good the bad and the ugly.

A huge shout out to Natalia Wajda Photography for getting these shots. You go girl.

My personal recommendations to check out before the summer ends in the city:

Cochon Valant – Brunch. You will want to try everything on the menu, I promise.

Drum Bar – Cocktails. Go on Saturdays from 4-5PM. Live music.

The Cabana Club at The Robey – Rooftop bar in Wicker. Cool vibe and you can hang byt he pool with killer views of the city.

Fat Baby Tacos – I had to throw this one in the mix. Get the burrito and a side of rice. Girl scout’s promise. River north.

Noyane – Rooftop bar in the Conrad. Asian flare food and cocktails are equally divine.

Where I want to go before the summer ends:

Yuzu Sushi Chicago – This artistic sushi restaurant is oh so Insta worthy with so many colors.

Oromo Cafe Chicago – Cute little coffee shop in Lincoln Square.

Park and Field – Can’t believe I still haven’t been (shame on me) but planning on going soon!

The Lunatic, The Lover and the Poet – Cozy dark wooden space for wine. All about that ambiance.

Where am I missing? Get outside when you can and enjoy these last few days of summer time Chi <3. Make sure to check out my favorite brunch spots in previous post!

XO.

Lex
