5 Things I Do When I’m Home in Orange County

The last time I was home was in May and I can’t say I was even “home” because I was in Palm Springs for a week which is two hours away from where I live. Now I can finally say I have been home for longer than a minute and loved being able to see family and friends. I do have a few Orange County musts when it comes to being home and you can bet sunshine is included in the mix.

While I was home, I went to Barry’s Bootcamp (obvi), went on walks in the park with the fam, some black Friday shopping and spent time with friends. A very special surprise happened and my friend/sister from another mister Taylor asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding next November!! I was jumping up and down I was so excited.

If you are in Orange County you MUST let me know! Below are a few recommendations for while you are in town and how you can experience the best of Orange County.

Shopping at Fashion Island. The fact that I can shop and see the ocean at the same time makes me so happy. I love walking around the outdoor mall, watching all the different OC housewives with their dogs, and spending time with my mom.

Drive down the coast. When I am home I am immediately drawn to the ocean. Whether its driving on Pacific Coast Highway, stopping into the Beachcomber for breakfast, or sitting on the beach to soak up a few rays, I’ve learned from living in Chicago to NEVER take a beautiful day for granted. My favorite beach is Laguna where I will grab lunch, check out the art shops, and relax as you look over the cliffs of California.

Run through the hills. I am not a champion runner running up steep hills for miles on end. But when I do make it to the top of a hill, I feel like I am conquering the world. When I am not running on my own, I stop in at Barry’s Bootcamp (they have one in Irvine!!) to get a good sweat in.

In N Out. My high school used to be around the corner from an In N Out. It’s swoon worthy, a guilty pleasure, and a California must.

Walk around the Orange Circle. The downtown area of Orange is charming from its ice cream shoppes to cute boutiques to cafes. I love eating at the Filling Station, stopping in at Laurenly boutique and walking around with friends.

I listed a few of my favorite shops + restaurants below for a more extended list of favorites. Felt so good to be home and can’t wait to come back later in December! My outfits are linked below each photo if you are interested in checking it out! <3
